What engine is in a LandMaster? ›

Our strongest machines are built with the industry's leading commercial-grade engines. Introducing the VANGUARD 570cc and the VANGUARD 627cc air-cooled engines. These engines have higher torque and increased speed and are built to withstand constant usage and harsh environments.

American SportWorks, the parent company of LandMaster UTV, designs and manufactures all engines used in their UTVs. Their engines are designed to provide reliable power and performance while keeping emissions low. All American LandMaster UTV engine components meet or exceed industry standards for safety and efficiency.

American SportWorks was purchased on November 14th, 2014, by Ambassador Enterprises. Ambassador is an equity firm that purchases and invests in over 47 companies to find ways to improve them and make them profitable. In 2016, ASW re-branded its UTV line, naming it LandMaster.

Vandalized in storage in the late aughts, the Landmaster was moved to another location in 2014, and then, in 2016, relocated to Gene Winfield's Custom Shop on Sierra Highway between Rosamond, California and Mojave, California.

As of 2023, the original "Landmaster" is alive and well, and is available for public viewing at Gene Winfield's Custom Shop in Mojave, California, 100 miles north of Los Angeles. It is missing the rocket launcher and machine guns as seen in the film, but is otherwise intact and drivable.

The Land Master is a civilian all-terrain utility vehicle produced in the late 1970s and early 1980s as a competitor to the Land Rover.

Professional achievements. In 1955, Wijewardene designed a two-wheeled, walking tractor to help small farmers in the tropics to mechanise their work. In an early attempt to mechanise farm labour during the Green Revolution, it was manufactured and marketed worldwide by the Landmaster company.
